First Premium Approved American Sport Pony (ASPR)

Homozygous black sabino/appaloosa stallion.

Currently measuring 13.2 hands as a coming 3 year old. Expected to mature close to 14 hands.

I am continually impressed with Paisano's movement, brilliance, sound mind, and wonderful athletic ability. He easily clears a 3' vertical and loves to jump. He also shows natural collection and plenty of suspension.

Paisano has begun his training this year in harness and will be available to a few select mares. He should cross well on Welsh, Arabian or sport-type mares, bringing substance, hardiness and a splash of color to the mix.

Additional Information

Some comments from the judges at the ASPR inspection: “He is of ideal size and he has good depth in his torso. His head he has a good expression. The neck is of correct length and is well shaped and well set on. The length and slope of his shoulder is correct and he has good freedom in the elbow. His top-line is good. The length of his croup is correct and the angle of his croup is good. The length and muscling of his thigh is good.”

“His front legs are substantial. His alignment is straight. His joints are dry. His pasterns are correct. And his hooves are absolutely fabulous. They are well shaped and of correct length, they are just picture perfect. When he travels, he is correct in front and behind and he has good rhythm. He has a good walk. He really steps well under himself. He has a good trot and a good canter.”

“In his loose jumping, he does everything with ease. He is neat in front and behind, his approach is great. He is well balanced and very light footed. When he trots and canters, you cannot hear him. That is what we want. We want to see the movement. When the horse is in motion, the less you hear of the footfall, the better it is.”

Comments from others: “He looks like a world class animal. Breeding to this stud would put some superb genes and performance into any horse or pony. This line cannot fail to be pure gold.”
