Cayuse Gold or Cisco produced a superb crop of foals in 2005 for his first crop and we are waiting eagerly for his next crop now. He is passing on his lovely neck and shoulder, spanish type, excellent movement, substantial bone and excellent feet, and most important his sensible, people oriented temperment and his trainability.
Cisco is in training for dressage and combined training. He made his show debut at training level dressage in the Fall and was a showstopper. He earned praise from the judge for his potential, gaits, attitude and for being "a perfect gentleman;" and despite extremely distracting conditions and high wind, still managed a ribbon his first time out! We are excited about his future and look for us at the shows in 2006.
Cayuse Gold has been DNA tested to carry the cream gene. He is also dun factor. This makes him a 75% color producer on non gray mares. He can produce 50% cream dilutes (palominos, buckskins, smokey blacks), 50% dun dilutes (red dun, grulla, bay dun), 25% both dilute genes (dunskins/buckskin dun, dunalinos/palomino dun, smokey grulla), as well as a 25% chance of non dilute. On mares that are also cream dilutes, he can produce cremellos, perlinos, or smokey creams.
