Grand Prix showjumper

Spanish Parade is a registered Anglo-European Sport Horse. He was points away from jumping into the Grade A jumpers in Ireland when grand prix rider Sarah Ballou imported him. Career highlights include:
Spruce Meadows 1.5m Capital Markets Cup- 3rd
$15,000 Cow Palace Grand Prix- 2nd
$25,000 Kachina Classic Grand Prix- 4th
$30,000 Marlborough Grand Prix- 2nd
$30,000 Hits Tahoe Grand Prix- 2nd
$50,000 Hits Tahoe Grand Prix- 3rd
$100,000 Hits Tahoe Grand Prix- 9th

His temperament is quiet and good natured- one can see him ridden on the trails of the ranch one day and willing to jump around a grand prix course in a “happy mouth” the next. It is for this reason, amateur rider Elizabeth Radakovich recently purchased Spanish Parade.

Spanish Parade's sire is by one of Ireland’s most notable sires “Carrolls Flight” who paired with Eddie Macken won several international Grand Prixs. "Carrolls Flight" was Irish National Show Jumping champion in 1987 and 1988 and was on several successful Irish Nations' Cup teams around that time and twice won the Irish Indoor Derby at our "Champions of the Year" show. Carroll's Flight was by the Thoroughbred stallion, Highland Flight and his dam was called Warrington Lass and was by the stallion, Errigal, most famous as the father of the legendary stallion, King of Diamonds.

Spanish Parade was out of a dam by the Thoroughbred stallion, Smooth Stepper and she was a half sister to the Grand Prix jumper, Spanish Arch, which was exported to and competed for Sweden.

The grandam of Spanish Parade was by another well-known Thoroughbred stallion, One Wing.

Both the dam and the grandam were good show jumpers---competing at 1.30 to 1.40 metre level.

Spanish Parade has only three progeny on the ground in Ireland; two promising five year olds and one impressive four year old. His oldest foal in the United States is "Rubia" who embarks on her show jumping career in 2006.

His superb temperament and conformation make him ideally suited to breed uncomplicated progeny that are sound, athletic and balanced. His progeny have excelled in Three-day Eventing in Ireland and are destined to excel in the world of show jumping in the United States. With those qualities his offspring should have huge market potential. Eddie Macken once referred to Spanish Parade as having “the heart of a lion and a Spitting image of his sire.”
