Lexington is a beautiful and well-bred Elite Book Friesian Sporthorse stallion, with a pedigree full of proven sport bloodlines on both sides. He is one of the only Friesian Sporthorse stallions in the US to be Approved for Breeding, and he was recently featured in USDF's Connections magazine article on Friesian Sporthorses. He is an expressive mover, with three good gaits, and a wonderful, friendly personality. He blends the beauty and temperament of the Friesian with the stamina and athleticism of the Thoroughbred.
Lexington has been DNA tested as a true black (E/E, a/a), meaning his foals will be black or bay (or possibly grey, only if bred to a grey mare), but he will not have chestnut foals.
Lexington's first foal "Lennox ROF" was born 3/15/07, and was fabulous, and was sold even before he was weaned. Lexington's second foal was born in 2008, and has already been presented at inspection where he earned both "Preferred" status with the AWS, and Bronze Elite status with the FSA. Numerous photos of both foals may be seen on our website, as well as a video clip of Lennox.
Lexington is currently competing quite successfully on the highly competitive Florida dressage circuit. As a 4 year-old he scored consistently in the 70's at Training Level, finishing the year in 19th place for USDF Dressage Horse of the Year at Training Level (2008), and also being named the USDF All-Breeds Champion at Training Level for the Friesian Sporthorse Association. As a 5-year-old Lexington is now competing at First Level, and still scoring in the 70's, and still winning. Lexington is virtually undefeated at Training and First Level, winning nearly every class he's ever been in.
Lexington is a very well-bred Friesian Sporthorse. His sire is the imported Friesian stallion Baron von Kolderveen, who is the highest ranked Friesian stallion on the USEF's list of Leading Dressage Sires for 2008. Baron's sire Reyert is the sire of Tietse, a Friesian stallion competing at the FEI level, and the first Friesian stallion to be approved based on performance. His grandsire Reitse has sired numerous successful dressage Friesians, including Iron Spring Farm's Goffert, who competed at Grand Prix level dressage, and has a Breyer model made for him. His grandsire on his dam's side is Peke, another successful sport Friesian sire, and the sire of the Grand Prix dressage Friesian Fire Magic (who is also famous as "the red Friesian".) Also noteable is his great-grandsire Tamme, who is the sire of 5 approved Friesian stallions. Tamme is also the sire of the Approved Friesian Sporthorse stallion Nico, and is the damsire of Iron Spring Farm's FEI level Friesian stallion Ulbert. There are too many successful sport Friesians in Lexington's pedigree to list them all, but his pedigree is available on our website.
Lexington is out of a Thoroughbred mare by Denver Kid, and the Thoroughbred side of his pedigree is full of famous Thoroughbreds and some of the most popular names in Thoroughbred sporthorse breeding: Turn-To, Hail to Reason, Northern Dancer, Native Dancer, My Babu, Sea-Bird, Buckpasser, Nasrullah, Nearco, and Ribot, to name a few. These names show up in pedigrees from Theodore O'Connor (Pan Am Games event horse) to Olympic Bonfire (Anky van Grunsven's Olympic dressage horse) to Sea Accounts (one of the only Thoroughbred stallions to complete the 100 day test and earn his lifetime breeding license from the RPSI) and Fappiano (USEF leading sire of event horses 2002-2006.)
All foals are eligible for registration with the FSA (Friesian Sporthorse Association), the AWS (American Warmblood Society), and the PHR (Performance Horse Registry), as well as a myriad of Friesian crossbred registries.
This is a great opportunity to breed to one of the best known Friesian Sporthorse stallions in the US, and one of the only Approved Friesian Sporthorse stallions, for a very low 2009 stud fee.
Please visit our website for more information and numerous photos. We also often have stud fee specials which are only advertised on our website, so be sure to visit!
